Hertfordshire Domestic Violence Helpline

Telephone 08 088 088 088 Monday to Friday 10am - 8pm

This free telephone helpline offers confidential advice, support and information to anyone suffering domestic violence or emotional abuse. And the number will not show up on your telephone bill.
  • Are you suffering physical or mental abuse and don’t know who to talk to?
  • Do you worry about your own behaviour towards your partner?
  • Are you concerned about a friend, family member or colleague you suspect is being abused?

Call the free and confidential Hertfordshire Domestic Violence Helpline. Our trained advisers are there to talk through your situation and offer relevant further support available in your area.

The service is available to everyone involved in domestic violence victim, perpetrator, or third party - irrespective of age, gender and sexuality.

Can you help?

Are you non-judgemental, compassionate and able to give some time each week? Do you want to gain helpline experience with full support?

The Hertfordshire Domestic Violence Helpline is staffed by volunteers who offer up to ten hours a week of their time to enable us to provide this service.

Volunteers are asked to commit to:
  • Initial training (opportunities for further training and conferences as they arise)
  • A minimum one hour a week helpline cover
  • Attendance at support training meetings and debriefing meetings every eight weeks
  • An annual review
