0 - 7 Partnership
Hertfordshire County Council has been selected by the DCSF as one of only ten local authorities to take part in a pilot project aimed at developing innovative models of partnership and collaboration among early years providers, schools and children’s services.
Hertfordshire will receive funding in the region of £1million over the next two and a half years to find creative ways for practitioners across agencies to work together, improving how children and families move through services and raising the standard of provision.
Some of the key aims of the pilot are likely to include:
- improving social development, progress and achievement of children
- exploring different ways of helping young children and their families, especially as they make the transition from early years and school
- changing working practices and boundaries of staff across sectors to maximise the potential reach of skills and knowledge
- working with health and early years providers in order to provide seamless services and support for families
- focusing on vulnerable groups such as children with learning difficulties and disabilities to ensure they can access good quality, integrated services
