Foundation Stage Guidance

The current guidance for the Foundation Stage was published in 2000. The guidance remains in place until August 2008. In April 2007 a new Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance was published.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the new set of standards for all those working to support the care, learning and development of children aged 0 – 5, i.e. from birth to the end of the reception class year. From September 2008, OFSTED will be inspecting all providers against the EYFS framework.
