z_restricteduse_NRWYF0006_copyright DfES only for Early Years Nursery managers oversee the running of the nursery including the staffing and materials. An example of someone who became a Nursery Manager

Helen spent 9 years working in a factory. Although she wanted to work with children it was not until she was made redundant that she thought seriously about her future. Helen had a NAMCW Diploma and started voluntary work in day-care. After 3 months, she took a temporary contract at the nursery followed by a permanent post and has now had four promotions to deputy nursery manager. During this time Helen studied at home for an ICS Diploma in Childcare and Child Psychology. Studying part-time she followed this with an Advanced Diploma in Childcare and Education. “I find my career both rewarding and challenging with no two days the same”.
