Development Worker

Development Workers work for a variety of agencies such as the NCMA, PSLA or local authorities. They support the establishment of new childcare and offer ongoing support.

Development Workers work with other agencies and partnerships, and access grant applications. The work is varied and requires negotiating , publicity, marketing and financial skills. An understanding of quality childcare and early years education is needed. Development Workers need to have empathy with staff and excellent interpersonal skills, business acumen and an undertsanding of the national and local context. They need to be flexible and willing to work varied hours.
