Childminders

z_restricteduse_MISMC0095_copyright DfES only for Early Years Registered Childminders provide a safe home environment for children. The day can begin early when parents deliver children to the childminder, who has planned and prepared the day’s activities. This can include taking older children to school/playgroups, playing with the children, reading stories, preparing meals, allowing rest time, providing suitable toys and equipment and a range of play activities.

A good childminder will be able to build relationships with children and parents, to understand and provide for their needs, maintain confidentiality and have the basic skills to run a small business. Childminders must be registered with OfSTED to look after children under 8 for reward. OfSTED guidelines state that Registered childminders must be over 17.

Childminders provide professional individual care for children, giving them the meaningful rewarding experiences that quality care requires. Childminding can give the childminder the flexibility to work from home, care for their own children and run their own sm,all business.
