Stevenage
At the time of the assessment (Summer 2007) we found that:
- Stevenage had a total population of 78,988 people, this equated to 7.8% of the population of Hertfordshire. 15,852 (20%) of the Stevenage population were aged 0-14 years, this matched the proportion for Hertfordshire overall (20%).
- Overall Stevenage appears to have sufficient childcare in the majority of children centre areas. However as Stevenage was identified as being the most deprived district in the County, affordability is an issue
