What must I do if someone else is, or will be, looking after my child?
It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that the proposed private fostering placement is suitable for their child. The law requires that you tell your local council at least six weeks before the arrangement begins. Knowing where your child is will help us to make sure that he or she is being well cared for.
Rather than interfering in arrangements that are working well, we want to be in a position to provide support and advice, and ensure that private arrangements run as smoothly as possible.
To notify us of a private fostering arrangement please contact the customer service centre on 01438 737 500.
What if I decide to change my carer?
We need to make sure that your child is living in a safe environment and is properly cared for. We can only do this if we know where your child is, so you should make sure we are told of any changes of carer or address.
What if I can't find out what's happening to my child?
If the carer is not giving you enough information about your child, or you are unhappy with the standard of care he or she is receiving contact us and we will help you.
