Children needing short term care

Sam & Luke
Sam and Luke are brothers aged 12 & 14 whose mother has learning disabilities. She has been unable to set boundaries and routines for the boys and consequently they have not attended school regularly. Their mother has not been able to make use of support services, and the home situation has deteriorated. The boys need to be fostered while an assessment can be carried out to look at the longer term plans for them.

Rasia
14 year old Rasia is an asylum seeker who needs an emergency placement. She speaks very little English, and has become estranged from the group of adults she was travelling with. The foster carers will be given access to a telephone translation service to help them meet her initial needs, while further information can be gathered.

Chloe
Two year old Chloe needs a foster placement for two weeks, while her mother goes into hospital, as there are no other relatives nearby to care for her. Chloe will be introduced to her foster carers gradually before the placement is required.

Tania
Tania is 15, and pregnant. She has been living in a children's home for the past year, but now needs to move to foster carers who can provide her with support until the baby is born, and while decisions can be made about her and the baby's future.
