The Corporate parenting team organises events throughout the year for carers, children and support workers.

In October the team held their annual awards ceremony promoting H.E.R.T.S - Hertfordshire Encoraging a Road To Success. The name was chosen by young people and represents their experience of the support they receive from their corporate parents. Working with a professional design team, the group developed its logo - the Star with the Heart as a representation of personal success and achievement.

There were three types of award given at the ceremony:

• Bronze - For children and young people who have achieved targets set to stretch their achievement levels

• Silver - For children and young people who have achieved well beyond expectation or targets set in a particular area

• Gold - For exceptional achievement in any area

In addition a number of independently sponsored bursaries are awarded each year to looked after young people who show very exceptional committment, skill or talent in a particular area.

A trophy will be awarded each year to a child or young person who has made an outstanding contribution to fostering.
