Leaving care

The care leaving team works to support all young people who are leaving care.
We work and support young people who are most at risk of exclusion or have been excluded from school during their final year of statutory education and those who are not in education, training or employment.

We encourage young people to have aspirations and set them on a course of action that will help them move closer to achieving them. By building on self-esteem we help young people to overcome barriers to education, training and employment and to take responsibility for their personal development.

By providing advice and access to other professionals we can help young people make informed decisions about their future education, training and employment and where appropriate, identify additional needs and signpost to other professionals.
