Carers into Learning and Work Service

Call 0800 587 4103 and ask for the specialist Carers Adviser.

This service is a 'one stop shop' to help carers and former carers rediscover their confidence and provide them with the skills and information they need to get back to work.

The service can provide one-to-one sessions on CV construction, interview technique and job applications. It also offers advice on finding the right type of course and information and guidance to carers already in work but wanting to change jobs.

If the service cannot help someone directly, it will point them to one of many support agencies including Carers in Hertfordshire, the council's Work Solutions and Money Advice Unit, Jobcentre Plus and health and social care agencies.

A Carer Preparation Pack has been developed for people with caring responsibilities looking to get into work or study.

An introduction to the carers preparation pack is available below. If you live in Hertfordshire you can request a copy of the whole pack to be posted to you free of charge. (For those living outside Hertfordshire, there will be a small charge.) Call 0800 587 4103.

For general questions, you can email jill.akroyd@hertscc.gov.uk.
