Where to look for help and advice

Carers' Emergency Scheme

What would happen if you were suddenly unable to care?

If you look after a relative or friend who is ill, frail or disabled you may worry about what would happen if you were suddenly unable to care for them.

Many carers told Carers UK that such worrying stopped them leaving the person they cared for at all, or for anything more than a quick dash to the shops. If the person you care for is an older person, is physically disabled or has a learning disability and is eligible for help from Adult Care Services, you are entitled to a Carers' Assessment. As part of your Carers' Assessment we can help you plan for emergencies with our new Adult Care Services Carers' Emergency Scheme.
