Care and support

Where to look for help and advice

How do I get Carers' Services?

Where caring has a significant impact on your life, and you are caring for someone who would be eligible to use our services, you can ask for a carer's assessment from Adult Care Services.

A carer's assessment is a chance to talk with a worker from Adult Care Services about the support that you may need to carry on caring.

There is a limit to how much help carers can get, but there is no financial assessment or charge for these services. About 700 carers per year are currently benefiting from these services in Hertfordshire.

Carers can also get these services in the form of direct payments (money instead of services). Ask your Adult Care Services worker for more details.

IMPORTANT: To view the full text of our leaflets online, or order copies, please use the Adult Care Services Publications link and navigate to the 'Carers' section.
