Carers' Grant is money which the Government gives Hertfordshire County Council to help make sure carers get breaks from caring.
Most of the money goes to voluntary sector projects but a range of other flexible services can sometimes be funded out of the carers’ grant - not only breaks services, but also practical help for the carer.
Usually the way to get a break or practical help funded by carers' grant is for you or the person you care for to have an assessment. A leaflet called You look after someone gives more details about this.
Many breaks are funded by groups like Crossroads - a charity that carers themselves can approach to get a break. Contact details are in the links below to local Crossroads projects.
