Carer's Allowance is paid if you care for someone who receives Attendance Allowance or Disability Living Allowance (middle or highest care part).
To get it you must be 16 or over and:
provide care for at least 35 hours a week (including time spent with the person checking they are ok, not just physically caring) and
not earn more than £87 a week from employment and
not be a full-time student (a full time student has 21 hours or more of supervised study per week).
