For information on other benefits you can claim if you have an illness or disability, the DWP produce a number of leaflets for ill and disabled people and carers available from the benefit enquiry line on 0800 88 22 00 or click on the link entitled jobcentre plus on the right hand side of the page.

HMRC produce various guides to tax credits. They can be contacted on Tax Credit Helpline 0800 500 222 click on the link entitled HMRC - tax credits on the right hand side of the page.

There is a comprehensive guide to the rights, benefits and services for people with disabilities and their families called “Disability Rights Handbook”. It is available from:

The Disability Information Bureau provides information and advice on a vast array of topics, including equipment, transport, benefits, disability rights and sources of support. It is provided by Hertfordshire County Council. Anyone needing this information - such as a person with a disability, a parent of a disabled child, a carer, or a professional working on behalf of a disabled client - can contact the bureau by telephone, email, post or online.
