Hertford Town Council

The Mayor of Hertford for 2007/08 is Councillor Russell Radford.

The Town Council manages Hertford Castle and the Seed Warehouse.

The Town Council also has responsibility for allotments at seven sites, Hertford Cemetery and the closed churchyards in Hertford; provides and maintains litter bins, public seats and closed circuit television; and cares for the War Memorial. It provides funding to Hertford Museum and grants aid to many local organisations. In addition the Town Council organises the Hertford in Bloom competition and other events at the Castle.

Hertford is twinned with Evron in France and Wildeshausen in Germany and is strengthening its links with Hartford, Connecticut.
