Bike Week 2007 will be from 16 – 24th June with its accompanying Bike2Work event running through the week. Bike Week is the UK's only annual 'celebration of cycling', first started by cycle campaigners in 1923! Last year 1,717 local events attracted 261,226 participants. You can check the Bike Week Website at www.bikeweek.org.uk for news about next year's events.
The Bike Week web site is open for organisers to advertise events and businesses are also welcome to put their events on the web, even if they are confined to staff.
TravelWise is working with the Gunnels Wood Business Partnership and ENCOURAGE in Stevenage to run a Bike to Work Breakfast on 19th June. Contact lilian.goldberg@hertscc.gov.uk for more information.
